I always get annoyed whenever I hear those words in such situation when I should not be feeling that way. Let me give you an example. Envision a circumstance wherein there's a victim of sexual assault, of course you will sympathize with their situation. The parents are outbursting their extreme anger and pity for their child. You listened. You expressed your empathy.
Not until one of them murmured, "Why does it have to be my child? There's a lot out there."
Normally, it is already a conformed mindset and nobody would find it wrong, to be honest. Some would even respond that obviously, that is directed to the bad people, oppressors and offenders--not for just anyone--but for those who deserve it.
I am no immaculate. However, lashing out your struggles into someone and wishing for your misfortune to be transferred to them instead doesn't sit right with me. It's never wise to seek for one's catastrophe, no matter their character, status in life and how much of a burden they've been to many.
Stop saying "Out of all people in this world, why does it have to be me?" Nobody deserves the hardship you're facing, not even you, unless He gave it to you because he has plans.
